Kids in Curwood Country ParadeThe 31st annual Kids parade is in the books. With over 50 units and approximately 2,500 children participating, it was once again a tremendous event. This year’s theme was “Wild Water Adventures”. We had several very good units depicting the group’s impression of the theme. The parade was sponsored by VG’s Food center the proud sponsor for 23 consecutive years and the Edward Jones Investment office of Dave Minarik. The parade could not have run smoothly without the help of the Parade line up group, the CRW’s, and the help of the City of Owosso’s crew and police department. This year’s winners were Best Float - Trinity United Methodist Church, Best Walking unit – Owosso Youth Cheerleading, Best Baton and Dance group – Ashleigh’s Dance Shack, Best animal unit – 4H Dog clubs all combining this year to support 4H. The Chairman’s Choice Award was given to St Paul School and the Most Creative Award was given to Cub Scout pack #83 led by Bill Hickmott. The chairman of the Kids parade Dave and Tracey Minarik would like to thank all those that participated and invite them back next year.
