2016 river daze winners

This year's race has faced many hurdles, we have had a very large tree fall on our course along with disagreeable weather come race day. Through these troubles we still found ourselves with a handful of die-hard racers on our rain date June 12th.
We really appreciate the spectators that came to support our event, especially those who participated in the race. Although we had a small turn out we were happy to make lasting friendships with our extended River Daze Family.

Unfortunately this year we were unable to crown a winner for this category of our race.

Rafts
Abigail Elbing, Zoe Klem, and Angie Miller take 1st Place for the 3rd year in a row! Adding an extra hand was Erik Weston for his first ever River Daze victory!

Commercial Rafts
Unfortunately none of our local businesses participated in our race this year.
Let this be a challenge from our River Daze volunteers, we hope to see you at next years race!

Although entries were down, brother team Devin and Trevor Nelson serving as co-chairs are committed to bringing back the huge rafts that they remember as young men in the 70’s & 80’s.

They invite businesses to put their thinking caps on and start planning the design of their raft for 2017. 2017 will be the 40th Anniversary of the Curwood Festival. The event is sponsored in part by Willoughby Press.
