City of Owosso

Located in the center of lower Michigan, Owosso has long been notable for its lovely historic homes and tree-lined streets.  Besides James Oliver Curwood, the city was the home of Thomas E. Dewey, twice presidential candidate; international known impressionistic painter Frederick Frieseke; U.S. Representative Alvin M. Bentley; best selling author Edward Dodge and professional football star Brad VanPelt.  A recent honor was the world premier showing of the film “Not Without My Daughter,” starring Sally Field, based on the best selling book by Betty Mahmoody.
