2016 heritage float awards
The 36th Annual Curwood Festival Heritage Parade which kicked off on Saturday, June 4 at 2:00 p.m., delighted the crowds as floats, marching bands, clowns, horses, antique fire vehicles, dance groups and a wide variety of revelers celebrating the theme of 'Together We Make a Difference' took over Main Street between Dewey and Chipman Streets.
Presiding over this year’s parade was Grand Marshals David Vaughn who has been active in the Owosso community for over 65 years in several local industries including Universal Electric, Woodards and Vaungarde, a company that he co-owned with his wife Patricia. Sponsored in part by Patrick Wegman MD, Hardee’s/Red Burrito, Senator Rick Jones, Culligan, Nutrition Connection and Sound Wavz the parade’s judges selected the following groups from among over 70 entries participating in this year’s parade for special recognition.
