2014 Youth Fishing Derby Winners

The day was beautiful and the fish were biting,” said Youth Fishing Derby Chairman, Kathy Lab. Over 50 kids ranging from ages 5 - 14 lined the banks of the Shiawassee River for a morning of fishing.  River Rat Rods Bait & Tackle owners Dan & Kathy Lab wished to thank their loyal customers for making the day possible.

The different species of fish caught vying for the Master Angler title that came up short included pike, sheepshead, small mouth bass and redhorse sucker.  Congratulations’ to the following winners:

Curwood Master Angler Award: Mason Huskey age 13 for a 25”, 7lb. carp.

A  Class (ages 5 – 8)
1st Place: Deegan Hickmont (8) – 28” total
2nd Place: Michael Jay Cummings (7) – 24” total
3rd Place: Drew Svarc (5) – 22” total

B Class (ages 9 – 11)
1st Place: Charles Goldman (11)  - 42” total
2nd Place: Eian Rowbotham (11) – 35.5” total
3rd Place: Tyler Hufnagel (9) – 33.5” total

C Class (ages 12 – 15)
1st Place: Mason Huskey (13) – 54.5” total
2nd Place: Dominic Mcmorris (14) – 47” total
3rd Place: Cody Wheeler (15) – 46.5” total

Charlie Award: Chris Miller (14)
